Hall of Fame nominee Juan Carlos Guajardo embarks on a journey of re-awakening by revisiting his elderly father’s baseball stories and the men who played them. During a visit to a small Texas town, he finds a treasure of information talking to retired sheriff William Snyder, who tells a story of a baseball game he'd witnessed years earlier. The sheriff's accounts of the past transport Juan Carlos back to an era of racial tensions and simpler attitudes while introducing a host of colorful characters from his father's early days. Each encounter helps Juan Carlos to discover a new perspective on his relationships with his son, family and his father.
